In Loving Memory of Juan “Pipe” “Moose” Hernandez.
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Juan Hernandez, who bravely fought a long battle with kidney disease. Juan was a devoted father of three, a son, a beloved brother, and a loyal friend to many. His strength, spirit, and love will forever remain in our hearts.
Juan's journey with kidney disease was filled with challenges, heartbreak, and unimaginable strength. Nearly eight years ago, he was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure and told he would need a kidney transplant to survive. It all began with overwhelming fatigue and an unsettling feeling that something wasn’t right. The diagnosis hit like a tidal wave.
Despite the odds, Juan faced this new reality with courage. Dialysis became a part of his routine — four to six hours a day, three times a week. It was a life-altering commitment that drained him physically and emotionally. The fatigue after each session was relentless. As many know, dialysis is not a cure — it’s a way to survive, but it comes at a heavy cost. Eventually, the toll on his body forced him to stop working and go on disability, a decision that was difficult for someone who had always worked hard to support his family.
Living with kidney disease changed Juan’s life and the lives of those who loved him. But through it all, he remained strong. His journey taught us the true meaning of resilience, the power of support, and the importance of organ donation awareness. Juan hoped for a transplant, but due to further health complications, receiving a kidney was no longer an option.
We are now reaching out to our community in hopes of easing the financial burden of his funeral and memorial services. These expenses include funeral home arrangements, burial costs, and memorial items to honor Juan’s life in a meaningful way.
We’ve created this GoFundMe as a way to come together and give Juan the farewell he truly deserves. Any donation — big or small — will make a difference, and your kindness during this time means more than words can express.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, love, and compassion.
