Friends of Jennifer,
Those who don't know me, I am a longtime friend of Jennifer's. We met while we were in high school, of course, playing basketball. Through basketball Jen and I were blessed with a circle of friends that has remained through the years, even until today. Many of you have read my recent message about Jennifer on Facebook which was sparked by my recent visit with her at Stanford Medical Center.
Many of you are still in the dark about her medical condition. Most of you know that Jennifer was the recipient of a new liver and kidneys last January 2015. Since then Jen was doing really well, with the exception of some difficulty breathing. Her doctors informed her that she would need a procedure done on her heart to alleviate this problem. She had this procedure this past October. Since then Jen has been in ICU every day except for approximately, maybe 5 days. As of today she is still in ICU. Jen has been facing set back after set back, complication after complication. Right now its a "wait and see" situation. We are hoping that her body recovers from the current issues and that she doesn't develop any new issues. Her situation is very complicated.
With that said, you can imagine what kind of medical bills our Jennifer is facing. Jennifer's birthday is in 4 days, on January 3rd. I have been trying to figure out what I could do or what I could get her for her birthday. (I had a hard time with her a Christmas gift. =D) Ive been seeing Go Fund Me pages everywhere lately and I figured....if its working for others, why not Jen! This is my birthday gift to my dear friend Jennifer. I hope that this could be a birthday gift from all of her friends combined. I mean, what do you give to someone who, materially, has everything she wants, needs, and desires. I know she would wish to be well and back to normal. We can't give her that, BUT we can give her hope that WHEN she is better she has some financial help, even if it turns out to be a little bit.
