Naeema Muhammad, EJ Champion Needs Our Help!

Naeema Muhammad has given so much of her life for social justice and now she needs our help. For decades she has worked with the NC Environmental Justice Network where she has arduously advocated for the rights of others. She is now working from home, but her medical condition requires 24/7 caregiver coverage. The cost to sustain 24-hour caregiver coverage exceeds Naeema’s current monetary resources.

Our immediate goal is to raise $12,000 which covers 1 month of care ($16/hour x 730 hours = $11,680), while Naeema and her family figure out a more sustainable plan for her care. Given the urgency of need, we are trying to raise this by July 31st.

As many of you know, Naeema's long-time husband, Saladin Muhammad, also a champion for worker rights and social justice, recently passed away. Together they have 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Naeema resides in Rocky Mount, NC.
