Nadya's Medical Journey
Hi Everyone and welcome to my journey.
I'm Nadya Gibson, a recent college graduate of Cabrini University. I am an avid sports fanatic and big fan of binge watching Grey's Anatomy.
Unfortunately 2021 has been one of my hardest and overwhelming years of my life. In March I was unfortunately hospitalized for 6 days with high fevers, body aches, body weakness, and rapid unexplained weight loss. Everything was a blur and continuously a mystery. I was then undergoing surgery for a lymph-node biopsy which (thankfully) was found benign. The doctors discharged me with no idea of what was going on. I have had many follow up appointments and blood tests, and still no result.
In July 2021, I have been told I am iron deficient and have begun iron infusions for as long as needed. I also tested positive for Anti-nuclear Antibodies (which is still a mystery on what is causing the positive test). I was also hospitalized with lower back, leg, and feet pain. Even though most of this stuff becomes traumatizing, it's something I have to continue to fight! No matter what, I'm going to keep a smile on my face and make sure I figure out what is going on! I turned to GoFundMe because the hospital bills have been rolling in at an unexplainably fast rate. From the iron infusions, to my anesthesia; they are piling up. I just want to try to lower the financial burden on my family as insurance doesn't cover all of my blood tests and infusions.
I put all of my faith and healing in God. I will heal. Even though it might take time, I'm in high spirits. You can't have a rainbow without a little rain. My entire support system of friends and family has been filling my life with so much love and joy. I am overwhelmed constantly with the love and support from my village. Together we will all fight this battle. In times like this I might feel lonely but know I am never alone. Everything makes a big impact and difference on my life. Continue to send prayers up for me as I do for all of you.
Don't forget to smile and THUMBS UP!
Thank you for everything.
Love, Nadya
