Last year, 14 year old Nadja Alaya visited her doctor with concerns about swollen lumps nodes in her neck and upper body areas. Unfortunately, they were attributed to hormonal changes, and a relieved young lady moved on with her demanding teen life. Our young dancer had shared the stage with Debbie Allen, and her acting endeavors led her to appearances on Disney, CBS, a series role opposite Keith David on TVOne's Belle's", and a co-starring role with Shemar Moore on the recently released film "The Bounceback".
Eight months later, after watching several lumps come and go, her concerned mother brought her into an emergency room with sudden fevers. Nadja was immediately admitted, and shortly after diagnosed with stage 4b Hodgekin's Lymphoma.
Her single mother Monique and 6 year old brother Cash need your help. Over the next year, Nadja will be undergoing extensive and aggressive chemotherapy followed by a series of radiation treatments with hopes to eliminate and cure her cancer. Monique will need to leave her job to be by the sides of Nadja and Cash as the family battles this out. Please help them stay afloat during their difficult time by contributing towards food, housing, transportation, child care assistance, living, educational costs, and uncovered medical expenses.
