On May 23, 2021 our beloved, Nadia Godun, went to be with the Lord at the age of 48.
In October 2017, Nadia was diagnosed with STAGE 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She was only 45! Determined to beat the odds, she began various treatments to kill off the cancer. Every 3 weeks she would get chemotherapy and for a few months had daily treatments of radiation. These treatments left Nadia feeling sick and weak and by the time she recovered, she would need to go get another chemo treatment.
Seeing that those treatments weren't working as well as hoped, she changed up her diet. So, for almost a year Nadia juiced fruits and vegetables in an attempt to see if this would help her body fight off the cancer. Although the juicing made Nadia feel much better, it had little affect on the cancer and it continued to spread; the cancer ended up spreading to her skin. She fought for over 3 1/2 years, even when the disease left her unable to walk, she continued the chemo.
On Sunday, May 23rd, she took her last breath surrounded by the ones she loved.
Nadia lived a difficult life, she lost her husband suddenly in 2006 and never remarried. She did her best as a single mother raising her 5 boys while working full time cleaning homes.
The Godun boys have gone through so much hardship in the past 14 years that some of us will never comprehend. We are asking for donations and prayers to help cover costs associated with the funeral and to help Nadia’s younger children.
