On Friday November 20, Gage suffered a devastating injury on the job. While working 35 feet above the ground doing tree maintenance, he slipped and fell. Gage has cracked his pelvis in multiple places, punctured his spleen, cracked his sternum and has multiple fractures on his tailbone. An exploratory surgery is scheduled for Saturday November 21 to see if there is any additional damage and how severe the existing damage is.
We are beyond blessed that he is awake, coherent and able to move, but this is still a devastating injury. We do not yet know if Gage will be covered under workers compensation, and like many young adults he is not insured. We do not yet know when he will be well enough to return to work. We do not yet know how long he will be hospitalized or how long he will need physical therapy. Gage is incredibly worried about the cost of his stay at Grant Medical Center, his ambulance fees, his surgical expenses, the cost of many months of physical therapy in addition to his day to day living expenses.
At this time, we are requesting prayers, good energy, whatever you believe in for our boy. Updates will be posted through his girlfriend and his mother as they come, as well as in the comments on this page.
