Hi, my name is Nicole and I’m not one that is used to asking for help. In March 2024, I was diagnosed with a rare, incurable form of lymphoma. As you can imagine, that was not easy news to hear, but I did continue working in between going to doctor's appointments and treatments. About two months after my cancer diagnosis, I started noticing joint pain and multiple areas of my body that were getting debilitating. I took a leave of absence, which I thought would only be a couple of weeks, but that was August 2024 and I’m still unable to work. The medications are really harsh and just last week, I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital with SEPSIS. I was very sick. I’m trying to find a balance between the oncology meds and the rheumatology meds, but it seems no matter what they prescribe, I’m going to be sick. This has been extremely hard on my kids, and my daughter was the one who called 911 last week. Thank God she was home and got me to the hospital quickly!
No one ever wants to ask for help, but right now, I’m in a position where I have no other choice. I only spend money on the necessities like keeping a roof over our head, food, electricity, medical bills, etc.
My goal is to return to work, but in the meantime, if you’re able to, I would appreciate any help. I thank you all in advance.
