Right now, the situation in Lebanon has become overwhelming. Due to the ongoing Israeli attacks, many families have suddenly lost their homes, their income, or access to basic services. Problems that would normally be manageable have become catastrophic. Rent, groceries, medicine, transport: everything costs more. Families who were already barely getting by are now also taking in relatives and neighbors who have lost everything. Many people have had to flee multiple times. The areas hit hardest are also the areas where the most vulnerable workers live. For them, an attack means not only danger but also the immediate end of their income.

Through our team and partners on the ground, requests for support keep coming in. The families reaching out to us are not reached by large NGOs. They rely on the kind of close, small-scale, community-based support that Nabta exists to provide.

Normally, Nabta focuses on long-term, sustainable change: helping children stay in school, supporting small businesses, and building livelihoods. Right now, we are also providing emergency relief to families who have nowhere else to turn. If you are able to contribute, your support will go directly to urgent needs such as:

Op dit moment is de situatie in Libanon overweldigend. Door de aanhoudende Israëlische aanvallen hebben veel families plotseling hun huis, hun inkomen of hun toegang tot basisvoorzieningen verloren. Problemen die normaal gesproken te overzien zouden zijn hebben nu veel grotere gevolgen. Huur, boodschappen, medicijnen, vervoer: alles is duurder geworden. Gezinnen die al amper rondkwamen vangen nu ook nog familie en kennissen op die alles zijn kwijtgeraakt. Veel mensen moeten keer op keer vluchten. De gebieden die het hardst worden geraakt zijn ook de gebieden waar de meest kwetsbare werknemers leven. Voor hen betekent een bombardement niet alleen gevaar, maar ook het directe einde van hun inkomen.

Via ons team en onze partners ter plaatse stromen de hulpvragen binnen. De gezinnen die bij ons aankloppen worden niet bereikt door grote NGO's. Ze zijn afhankelijk van de kleinschalige, gemeenschapsgerichte steun die Nabta juist biedt.

Normaal gesproken richt Nabta zich op duurzame, langetermijnverandering: kinderen op school houden, kleine ondernemers ondersteunen, bestaanszekerheid opbouwen. Op dit moment bieden we ook noodhulp aan gezinnen die nergens anders terecht kunnen.
