If you’re reading this, chances are you know, love, or have at least chuckled once or twice in the presence of my father, Nabb Drennen Quinn. And if you know Nabb, you already know he’s one of the good ones -- and a newly minted grandfather!

Recently, we received some tough news: a mass has been found on Nabb’s pancreas and while it’s not "capital C" cancer yet, doctors are confident it will be if left untreated.

The good news? There’s a narrow window of time to act before it becomes something much worse. The not-so-good news? That action is a major, high-risk operation called the Whipple Procedure. The nurses and doctors' assistants have explained to me several times; this is much more serious than Whipple Ball.

It’s a complex surgery that involves taking out part of the pancreas, gallbladder, bile duct, and small intestine. I know what you're thinking: "Take it out where?" Please focus.

This is a serious procedure, but it's also Nabb’s best shot at a full recovery, and thankfully, his insurance will cover the cost of the surgery itself.

But here’s where we need help:

Recovery from this kind of surgery is no joke. It’s slow, exhausting, and often overwhelming. For at least two months, Nabb will be largely bedridden and unable to care for himself, let alone help care for his beloved wife, Etta, who lives with Alzheimer’s.

The truth is, we need 24/7 professional in-home care, the kind of compassionate support insurance does not cover (because of course, it doesn’t).

We’re launching this GoFundMe to raise the funds needed to bring in a trusted, experienced medical sitter to support Nabb during this critical recovery window. It’s an essential part of giving him the best possible shot at healing—and coming back to the world we all love him in.
