David Francis, a loving husband and father, leaves behind his wife Josefina, daughter Jamielynn, as well as his parents, siblings, extended family and friends. David took his own life at home on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 52. He suffered much of his life with depression, compounded this past year by the isolation of the Coronavirus pandemic.
David’s unexpected death has put Josefina and Jamielynn in a precarious financial situation. We started a GoFundMe campaign to provide some financial support for Josefina and Jamielynn. Our aim is to help the family cover short-term needs like their mortgage, utilities, groceries, and other monthly bills. If we can cover those basic needs for a few months, it will give Josefina and her daughter the time and space they need to grieve without added financial stress.
Any additional funds will go toward ensuring Jamielynn’s plans to attend college aren’t disrupted. Your donation, in any amount, can make a significant difference for the family today and in the coming months.
Josefina is a hard worker who has helped countless people as a dedicated, caring nurse’s aide at Soin Medical Center. She is devoted to her family and beamed with pride when Jamielynn graduated this spring from Kettering Fairmont High School. Jamielynn was a drummer in the school band and an excellent student who plans to study computer science in college this fall.
We’ll never know what burdened David, but to the people who loved him he will be remembered as a kind soul with a warm smile and a sharp wit. Despite his struggles, he lifted others up. David was raised in Dayton and graduated from Colonel White High School. He owned a painting business and more recently worked for AES Ohio. His family attended St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Kettering.
