On June 28th, single mother Shannon blacked out during a seizure and fell down a full flight of stairs. She nearly died and had to be revived by paramedics. After a 10-day hospital stay Shannon continues to suffer from her injuries and is experiencing severe episodes of major depression along with other symptoms. She requires 24-hour supervised care. She is currently unable to work, drive or care for her three children. Shannon will need at least six months to recover.
Shannon has given her whole life.
Those of us who know Shannon will tell you how kind and giving she is. Even while going through her own most difficult moments we have seen her come to the rescue of friends, family and strangers, say a kind word, offer encouragement, or share a heartwarming story or inspirational quote. She never had much so she gives her heart. In the five years I have known her, I have never seen her get angry, callous or mean. She truly cares and loves others, even though she has so little herself.
Help us give a little back to Shannon for all the times she has given to us.
Shannon will need continued medical treatment. She will need help in caring for her children. She is applying for State and LDS financial aid, but it will not be enough to meet the medical costs, bills, rent and so forth. We are estimating $20,000 will be needed over the next 6 months. Please donate now so that she can focus on her own recovery instead of a dire financial situation.
