ShareBaby, Inc. was started by 3 Maryland moms who wanted to help babies get the best start in life.
We collect baby clothing, diapers and gear for ages 0-5, and distribute them to local homeless and women's shelters and organizations. What is special about us is that we don't just "dump" gear on a shelter. Instead, we work directly with the organization. They tell us exactly what each child in their program needs. We are able to save the organization precious storage space, and our donors feel good knowing that their child's old item is going directly to another child in need.
The support from our community has been incredible! In the 4 short months since we started, we have collected over $10,000 worth of baby gear, and have been able to help children and moms from several amazing shelters and organizations. Because we only give a shelter what it needs, we are builidng a wonderful inventory of items. Our goal is to have enough items gathered that we can always fulfill a child's wish list.
We hope to keep growing to add more organizations and help more families, but in order to do that, it's time to move out of our garages and basements!
Help ShareBaby build it's nest! We need to raise at least $5,000 to rent two storage units (one for our Baltimore location and one for our Montgomery County location), and to purchase items such as shelves and bins to help us organize all our amazing donations.
