Shane's Road to Recovery

Hi, this is Alicia, Kim, and Mary, Shane's sister in laws. Shane received the call of a lifetime on the night of December 7th. After battling complications of cirrhosis for months, he received news that a liver was available for him just 24 hours after being put on the transplant list. Unfortunately, after rushing to the hospital he was told that he was too sick to receive the liver. Through disappointment and pain, he fought for his body to be ready for the next call. His miracle came on December 15th, when he endured an 8 hour surgery and received his new liver. He is now on the road to recovery with his second shot at life. Because of the severity of this type of surgery, both he and Monica are off of work. As he recovers she will be his sole caretaker, making her unable to work for an additional 6 weeks after he leaves the hospital. The medical bills are piling high quickly, adding stress to an already taxing situation. The Johnson’s are never people to ask for money or help. They are the people to get you a gift just because, or cover dinner for everyone at the table. Our family is hoping that this Go Fund Me can relieve some of their burden, and shift their focus strictly to recovery rather than paying bills.
