Emily's Surgery Fund

Hi, I'm Jennifer, fundraising for my 22-year-old daughter Emily. Emily is having surgery on November 7th to correct two severe issues with her reproductive system.

Let me give you some background. Emily has had issues with her cycles since she was young and experiences intense pain. She recently discovered she has two problems that need immediate correction if she has any chance of having a baby naturally.

First, she had an ovarian cyst pop several years ago that did not heal properly. The fluid from the cyst created a solid glue, super glue if you will, that glued her right ovary to the wall of her abdomen. As you can imagine, the ovary glued to her stomach is causing severe pain and damaging her chances of ovulating normally, thus creating fertility issues.

Secondly, she has been diagnosed with a severe case of endometriosis. Endometriosis is a disorder in which tissue that usually lines the uterus grows outside the uterus. The tissue is now lining the outside of her ovaries, fallopian tubes, and intestines. Again, severe pain and infertility.

As it stands, her doctor said even with the surgery, it will be difficult for her to conceive, but the surgery will give her a chance and will get rid of the intense pain she feels all the time.

Emily spoke to the insurance company, and the cost, after insurance, will be $8k-$10k out of pocket, plus she will miss two weeks of work. I am trying to help fund as much of this as possible.
