Wheels for Rose

Hello -
I'm Barbara Chusid, a long-time friend of Rose Onama, originally from Uganda but here in the U.S. since college. Rose and I were in an Afropop band in Madison many years ago and she is now living in Milwaukee.
Rose has survived a stroke and cancer. She's taught herself to walk again several times but still relies on a wheelchair for mobility. Her large motorized wheelchair has broken down and its dysfunction has injured her but, caught in a capitalist bureaucracy, she's been unable to get it fixed or replaced. Rose is a joyful and active person, before her illness, she was an African dance teacher (among many other roles).
With this GoFundMe, Rose will have the money to buy a foldable, electric wheelchair that can fit in a car or plane. With this chair, she will be able to teach classes on African culture and attend events in Milwaukee and Madison. It would also help in fulfilling her dream to travel home to visit her African family.
Please contribute whatever you can to help Rose get mobile again.
