Help Purchase a Vehicle for the SSVM Juniorate
In the heart of D.C.’s Brookland neighborhood—or “the Little Vatican” as it is sometimes called—is the Immaculate Heart of Mary Juniorate, the house of studies for sisters in formation of the Institute Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara, the female branch of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word.
The Juniorate House is a place of prayer, study and preparation for the mission for the sisters living there.
Pastoral formation is an important part of the lives of the sisters preparing for the missions. Therefore on the weekends they help with apostolate at parishes, including teaching catechism, organizing oratories for children and youth, and sacristy work. Other apostolates include witnessing to consecrated life on university campuses, and helping at shrines and places of pilgrimage.
All of this would be impossible without one basic necessity…transportation. Thus, the purpose of this GoFundMe page is to help the sisters at the Juniorate to be able to purchase a minivan to replace a vehicle that no longer functions.
We are so grateful for your generosity, which allows us to see Divine Providence at work!.
Be assured of our prayers for you and your family.
"And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because he is a disciple, amen I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward". - Matthew 10:42
