My Name Is Abdulrahman — Please Hear Our Story
My name is Abdulrahman Al-Najjar, a 20-year-old Palestinian from Gaza. I once dreamed of studying journalism to share my people’s voice with the world. But because of our difficult financial situation, I had to put my dreams aside and work to support my family.
Then the war came — and it destroyed everything.
We were displaced to the south, where we lived for many months in a tent, enduring unbearable conditions. When we finally returned to northern Gaza, my heart shattered. Our home was completely destroyed — nothing remained but broken walls and painful memories.
Today, I carry the heavy responsibility of supporting my entire family:
- My father is seriously ill and cannot work.
- My little brother, who has Down syndrome, urgently needs continuous medical care and expensive treatment we can no longer afford.
- We have lost our home, our income, and our sense of safety.
Life has become a daily struggle — to find food, medicine, and the bare minimum to survive. With no other options left, I come to you, humbly, asking for help.
