As some of you may know, On October 4, 2015 I witnessed an accident on I-10 as I was heading home from a concert. When I pulled over to help those in the accident and wait for police to give a witness statement of the accident, I was hit by a car as I walked back to my own car. This car was traveling at a high velocity. Unfortunately as a result of being hit by the car physically I suffered severe thigh/buttocks lacerations and a significant amount of blood loss. In addition my car was also totaled as result of the car hitting me, and pining me between both cars. The person who hit me with their car fled the scene, and there is an open police investigation in regards to my case.
I was rushed to the hospital to have emergency trauma surgery and spent about 12 days in the hospital. Throughout my days at the hospital I had multiple blood transfusions and had to do a lot of physical therapy to get my legs functioning again. After that I was sent home with a big wound wrapped in bandages; after many doctors visits throughout the month of October, it was decided that I needed to have another surgery. This surgery will take place On Monday November 9. This surgery is designed to help my wound heal better and give me a better chance of avoiding infections. I am asking that anyone who can and wants to please donates to this fund, to help my family and I cover medical expenses. Since the assailant got away, we have had to front the cost of all medical procedures, appointments, medicines and surgeries up front. As a result of all of these medical events, I had to drop my current semester of college and have been advised to take the next semester off as well in order to focus on making a full recovery. I was supposed to start attending Texas State University in the spring semester. I have had to put my job on hold, and my entire life in order to focus on my health. This has been an incredibly difficult and trying time for my family and myself as we try to deal with the trauma, medical consequences and the financial burden of my situation.
