Our dear friend, Christine Peck, was recently diagnosed with stage 2B invasive carcinoma breast cancer. Christine is a Reiki Practitioner and Animal Caregiver and a friend to all. She has the most remarkable energy and lifts the spirits of everyone she meets. She's given so much to so many, and she now needs our help.
Christine's breast cancer is triple negative, meaning it does not respond to hormonal treatment. Although her prognosis is good, she will require aggressive treatment.
Christine will undergo 20 weeks of chemotherapy followed by surgery and radiation. She's already receiving chemo and as a result, she tires easily. Because of her immune system suppression, she will be unable to work for at least 6 months.
What can we do to help? Because Christine is self-employed, she doesn't have paid leave and vacation days. She needs help with her day-to-day expenses, such as rent, food, car and transportation.
