N95 Mask Purchase Fund

My name is Julian Baumgartner and I'm the owner of Baumgartner Fine Art Restoration in Chicago, a fine art conservation firm. I also own and run the Instagram and YouTube channels of the same name wherein I share my work as an art conservator.
As a conservator I purchase equipment and materials from all over the world and have long standing relationships with vendors of all stripes. One of these companies that I was in talks with about the purchase of a piece of equipment reached out to let me know that they are now making N95 masks.
The masks meet American N95 and Chinese KN95 standards and wholesale for $1.80 per mask. I originally contacted them with the intent of purchasing 2000 masks on my own to donate to local hospitals, medical professionals and first responders as they're so desperately needed. While I wish that I had the ability to do more, I decided that at least I could try to leverage my social media accounts for this cause and so I created this GoFundMe campaign.
I put the word out on my Instagram and YouTube channels asking for any donations so that we could pool our resources in hopes of leveraging a larger order for a reduced cost and save on shipping.
I initially set out trying to raise $6,000 and almost instantly that goal was met. I raised it to $8,000 and that goal was surpassed too. Moving it to $10,000 didn't stop the donations and now I'm just letting it run until I have to place the order in the next day or so.
ALL of the money donated will go toward the purchase of N95 masks. Any that is left over will be forwarded/donated to Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
I will be working with https://sites.google.com/view/getmeppechi/home to facilitate the distribution of the masks once they arrive, hopefully within 7 days per the manufacturer.
I will document this entire crazy ride and release it as a video so that everyone can see what THEY did.
I'm not anyone special aside from having a bit of chutzpah and a lot of fans on social media who have hearts larger than I could ever hope for my own.
We're all in this together and we can't get through it alone.
