My name is Heather and I’m a single mother of a teenage daughter named Mariah. I’m in my last two weeks of college and then I’ll be graduating. Mariah is a straight a student and has aspirations of being a doctor someday. We have been through some truly tough times recently and tried to go to the waterpark to have some fun on Friday evening and we got a call telling us that our home was on fire.

We rushed back to the house from the waterpark only to be told that we could not enter the home or be anywhere near it and they don’t know if the cats are inside or not and if they are alive or not. 

We have had these cats since they were kittens and they mean the whole universe to us. I pleaded with the fire department personnel to let me in to find them. 

i was escorted in to be told that my older cat was
trapped in a bathroom upstairs and my younger one was between plastic totes trapped. 

I immediately started throwing totes to get her outand a firefighter restrained her so we could put herin the carrier. I followed another firefighter upstairs to get the older one and he was pinned behind the pipe going from the toilet to the wall. He was unresponsive. I started taking to him and rubbing him to revive him. He started moving his head and eyes.
i left with them. The management company had approved for me to transfer to a new unit on Dec 15th anyway before any of this even happened. They told me last night that even though the unit isn’t ready that we could get the keys and move in immediately. We took the cats into the empty place and stayed there last night.

We took the cats to the vet this afternoon and they were immediately taken to intensive care. They have been hospitalized for carbon monoxide exposure and are being monitored overnight tonight. They will have X-rays tomorrow to determine if there is any internal damage to their bodies.

Our entire home is gone.

please help us! We now have nothing and we are heading into some really busy weeks with my graduation, Christmas, my birthday, and my daughter’s birthday. 

im overcoming domestic violence as well so this all so very hard to handle.
