Hello everybody, Yayo has been dealing with a lot of medical complications from the dog respiratory illness going around right now. and I have ran out of money and resources to help him. He is only 10 months old and doesn’t deserve to be given up on with such a full life ahead of him. Yayo is the most smart, active, funny, dog I have ever met and is special to anybody he meets.
Yayo developed a gagging cough and we brought him to the vet multiple times and got dismissed by his routine vet everytime. As he got more sick we decided to take him to the emergency room where they diagnosed him with severe pneumonia. Yayo was completely unresponsive at the time so we had to admit him to the ICU where he would be treated for pneumonia. 1 day into care the vet called us with concern because he had found fluid inside AND Outside yayos lungs which is not a common symptom to pneumonia. The ER costed $2.5k per day of care so eventually I had to take him home and the vet let me self administer IV Fluids, medication, etc. Yayo required 24 hour care at home for about 3 weeks. When he started getting better, I had yayos files transferred over to a new vet, since his original vet completely neglected him 3+ times causing the situation to become far more worse than it had to be. The new vet performed follow up chest X-rays on yayo and let me know a few days later that he developed pneumothorax (air between the lungs and the chest wall). With this information the vet referred us back to the Emergency room. The emergency room let us know that one of yayos lungs have already partially collapsed due to the air pressure on his lungs and heart. The emergency room referred us to U.C. Davis animal hospital. U.C. Davis informed me that Yayo would need to be aspirated (remove air trapped between lung and chest wall), would need to get a CT taken (to better understand where the leak or damage is located in his lungs), and surgery to repair his lungs. So far I have paid for all of yayos care up until the CT which has been around $10k and I have nothing left and have exhausted any and all resources I had. The CT and Surgery together is going to be around $13k and Yayo is not able to receive any treatment until this is paid in full which is nearly impossible for me to come up with in time. This treatment is extremely urgent due to the pressure on his vital organs. Thank you all for your prayers, donations, and sharing this link. I appreciate you all so much and so does yayo.
