Hello everyone, my name is Laura Parchem. No matter how you know me, from school, from work, from play, you know I'm a lively individual who has a positive attitude and an upbeat view of life. On April 4, 2020 when the pandemic was spreading and life was shifting like quicksand, I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer. Triple negative is rare, it's aggressive, and I'm at stage 3. The prognosis was not good.
The doctors recommended a very invasive treatment plan to kill the cancer, and admitted that even after the months of treatments, because it is triple-negative, there is still a chance the cancer can return. That's when I started looking for alternatives...ways I could heal myself.
So, instead of the harsh path of chemotherapy I have chosen the holistic approach to heal my body and make it a place where cancer doesn't want to live. Many have questioned my plan, a few have even cut ties because they think chemo is the only answer. But I stand firm and positive and assure you much thought and research has gone into my decision. The treatment plan I've chosen is proven successful, recommended by people I trust, and gives me the quality of life I need to be at my best self. I' m happy to share the treatments in detail, just ask.
Now comes my reason for this GoFundMe page. I was laid off from my job in July because of COVID. I have been doing part time work to stay afloat and continue to interview for full time employment, but my great insurance went with the great job, which leaves me with state insurance that will only cover the aggressive chemotherapy route. None of the treatments in my holistic plan are covered.
I've made major changes in my life over the last six months and I want to live now more than ever. Radical remission has happened for others who chose the holistic route, and I believe it can happen for me. Changes in diet, exercise, and mindset have already shown results in my overall health and well being. That's the irony. I feel great! My mind is clear and my energy is amazing, all due to these changes. I refuse to erase all that progress with invasive chemo. It's time for the holistic therapy treatments to take my healing to the next level.
If you know me, you know it's hard to ask for things. I'm usually the giver. But I'm trying to save my life and I need your financial support to move forward. I'm asking for help from my friends and from those who want to walk with me and watch a 52 year old woman take the road to healing through nutrition and holistic methods.
The treatments begin in October. I'll need $ 5,000 through the end of the year to complete the series. I'm fighting for my life and I won't give up. I'm asking you to share the journey with me so I can be a light for others and show that you never give up on yourself. We are all worth it.
