Help Me Bring My Mom Home
Donation protected
Dementia took her mind. Now I'm left carrying what it left behind.
I never thought I'd be here-asking for help.
My mom just died after a long fight with dementia.
She fell at her assisted living facility. No one came.
She crawled across the floor and called me.
Her kidneys failed from the fall.
Dialysis could have saved her-but her dementia meant she couldn't return to her home.
No other facility would take her.
She chose to let go....and then forgot.
I had to tell her she was dying-
over and over-for four days.
She told me she loved me.
I told her she was the best mom in the world.
She laughed. Then forgot again.
She died owing more than I can carry alone.
WHERE YOUR HELP WILL GO:
- $20,000 in unpaid State and Federal Taxes
- $2,000 for cremation
- And an urn, so I can bring her home with dignity
My brother, who lives with schizophrenia, couldn't take this on. he was her son, but I became her advocate, her caregiver, and now-her voice.
Her final Social Security check was deposited-then pulled back the moment they were informed she died. I called. I begged. They told me, "That's just how the system works."
Now, it's just me. And this fundraiser.
If you can help-thank you. If not, please share this. And if you've never lived through this-pray you never do.
