February 24, 2015 The Halsema home, owned by Leslie and Mike Halsema, was engulfed in flames and burned beyond recognition. The family purchased the 1915 home 3.5 years ago and have since been on a mission to remodel to make it their dream home. "We put our heart and soul into this home, and the winter weather takes us out," Leslie said from shelter of the barn. "It's a newer home to us. We've been remodeling for three years. It's all done, and we just moved in in April."
