Support for Anthony's Stage 4 Cancer Battle

In a 7day span, our families world has been turned upside down. On Nov 9th 2024, my sister called me, told that my 22yr old nephew (who has ADHD and the mentality of a teenager. Who lives at home) was admitted into the hospital. He had woke up in middle of the night crying with back pain. They took him to the urgent care, which sent him to the ER. He had 6.7pints of blood (should have 10 pints) & his blood levels were all out of wack. They did a blood transfusion, more blood work & a MRI. They found big masses in his colon, spots on liver and both lungs. They started cleaning him out to do a colonoscopy. During the colonoscopy they had to abort the procedure, they only got a few inches in, a little past his rectum. There were way too many polyps & a big mass that they cannot get past. They did biopsy of the polyps. They also took biopsy’s of his liver. They both came back as cancer. They did surgery and removed his whole colon. The doctor said his colon has thousands of polyps and he had gotten cancer 2 separate times & 2 places in his colon. As well as his liver is covered with cancer and small spots on both lungs. That means he has stage 4 cancer. He is extremely malnourished. He didn’t have much appetite prior to being in the hospital. They are trying to get his strength built up so he can do chemo. But that is not going to be easy. They said at least 3-4wks. One doctor brought up the possibly of going to specialist in St Louis, but not sure about that. It’s all not looking good. All of this within 7days.
My nephew did not have insurance. My sister and brother-in-law work factory jobs and barely make it paycheck to paycheck as it is. They are having to take FML from work. And the bills are going to start racking up. They are driving 20miles one way to the hospital. As well as trying to eat while at the hospital. Their truck is not in good condition, need mechanical work that my brother-in-law doesn’t have time to do. Medical needs and bills my nephew will have when he gets out of the hospital that will start coming in. These are just a few financial challenges they are facing.
Asking for help is not something that comes easy for our family. We know hard work and we know y’all work hard for every dime you bring home. So it makes it very difficult to ask for someone’s hard earned money. But if you are in the position to help out some during this hard time, it will be deeply appreciated.
Above and beyond financial help, please keep my nephew in your prayers! Only God has the ability to put his hand over him and heal him and put his mind at ease. Please pray for our family, we need all the prayers right now. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
