Little Colter North gave his parents, Jeff and Sam, quite the surprise when he arrived 9 weeks early on April 1st. Shortly after his birth, Colter was life-flighted to the NICU in Coeur d’Alene, where he will remain until he is strong enough to come home. Doctors anticipate his stay may last until his original due date of June 2nd.
Despite his early arrival, Colter has already shown incredible strength and resilience. He is gaining weight and proving every day that he is a true fighter. His big brother, Miles, was able to meet him briefly before the transfer, but sadly won’t be able to spend more time with him until Colter is ready to come home.
As with any unexpected medical emergency, this journey brings significant financial strain. Jeff and Sam are currently staying in Coeur d’Alene to be close to their son and will be unable to work during this time. Along with mounting medical bills, they are also facing travel expenses, lodging costs, childcare for Miles, and the added cost of daily meals away from home.
Jeff and Sam have always been the first to show up for others—whether organizing giveaways, donating to auctions, or supporting community fundraisers. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
If you are able, please consider donating to help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers for Colter’s continued strength and healing, and for comfort and peace for the entire family.
We will also have a donation account set up with the Cottonwood Credit Union within the next day or two.
