Julie Kathryn Adrian, age 58, passed away on Christmas Eve in Hotchkiss, Colorado. Born on February 8, 1967, in Midland, Texas, Julie lived a life defined by fierce love, humor, and a heart that never stopped giving.

Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Known for her quick wit and hilarious sense of humor, she could light up any room while also being the ultimate “mama bear”—protective, loyal, and endlessly loving to those she cared about. She was adventurous at heart and lived her life with passion, courage, and deep compassion for others.

Throughout her life, Julie wore many hats. She was a journalist, worked for Sequoia National Park, owned a granite countertop business, operated an elder care home for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other mental disabilities, ran a boutique, and later worked for a hospital. No matter the role, her work was always guided by her desire to care for and help others.

Above all else, Julie was the best mom and wife. She had the biggest heart and always put the needs of others before her own. Her love was unconditional, fierce, and constant—a gift that will live on through her family.

Julie is survived by her beloved husband John of 34 years; her daughters, Hannah and Emily; her treasured grandson, Kai; her sister, Gina Cason; and her brothers, Robert Lynn Atkinson and Ben Atkinson.

At this time, no service date has been set. Julie was deeply loved, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. Life will never be the same without her, but her spirit, laughter, and love will remain with us forever.
