The first time I met Laura Sisson was back in 2007 on Lake Blue Ridge. I did not know then that she would become a mother figure, a best friend, a much needed support system and a down right amazing influence on my life. I can honestly say, I know I am not the only one.
Laura has a wonderful husband Charlie, who she has been married to for over eighteen years. She has five beautiful children, though she has acted as a mother to many.
Laura Sisson is a beacon of light to her family, her community and her friends. She will give you the clothes off her back, but then immediately ask you to oil it so she can tan. :) Her sass and country class have made her well known everywhere she goes and she always lights up the room.
On January 13, Laura had a serious automobile accident around 7:30pm. She flipped her car three times, causing serious injury. Her recovery may take a few months, or longer. We all know how strong she is physically and mentally. She is about as tough as they get. She is currently in ICU recovering from surgery at Erlanger in Chattanooga, TN. The list of injuries include and surgical repairs are: torn bladder, torn diaphragm, hole in pericardial sack, lacerated liver, neck fracture, pelvic muscle torn from hip, bruised heart, an artery in her neck was torn but clotted on its own, and numerous bone fragments from her spine .
As you can imagine, this has been quite a shock for her family and community. As medical bills rise around them; Laura and her family are also footing the bill for hotel rooms to be near and support her, meals, and gas for driving to and from Chattanooga. Please, give whatever you can to help this wonderful family through this hard time. I know the Sisson family will truly feel the love from their amazing community with the donated money.
