My girls dream puppy died... help with Puppy fund

Donation protected

Imagine this scenario... your eight-year-old child ((and 3 year old would love one but she isn’t as persistent ))asks you every.  single. day. ... for at least a year and really probably longer than that... but every day she’s asking you ... and in her nightly prayers she’s praying they pray for a puppy. The older of the two Littles, she’s asking you for a puppy, she’s telling you she will work for this puppy , she’s telling you any birthday money and Christmas money that she has you can have it. She tells you she’ll clean up after the dog,  she’ll take care of the dog, it’ll be her responsibility and every day she’s asking you crying, begging, pleading, negotiating. You can tell that something in her soul NEEDS this.  A year later.  COVID. It’s a perfect time. Your husband is home and it would be a good time to bring a puppy home. Timing is everything.  You explain with her asthma And her allergies you really have to find the right breed. It’s not easy. It’s not fast.  You have to research,  you can’t just get any dog. You look at shelters but the poodle mixes are all gone by the time you call them. Plus you never really know what you’re getting with a mixed breed so there’s an additional risk to your child in doing that. You search... and you search ... you get scammed. Some people ask for money upfront and then they block you when you tell them you won’t give them the money upfront. You look at breeders sites, but they’ve got wait lists into 2021. You find puppies but they’re in another state. And Because you’ve joined so many dog groups your timeline is flooded with puppies and dogs and happy families with their fur babies. The girls are now 9 and 4. No luck finding one for a birthday.  You finally come across one it’s a breed that you’re looking for... Maltipoo (Maltese and Poodle).  You think “oh it’s probably gonna be too expensive” you reach out and you message the person... you think it’s a scam. You continue to message the person asking questions...  are they vet checked? Yes.  You know are they healthy? yes . No wait list? Nope. Any available? Yes. So much “yes” and after all of these yeses  she says “they’re going fast and the last litter was sold out in two days”. So you talk to your husband begging please go pick up this puppy...   he goes drives almost an hour away to pick up a puppy. He picked out the cutest one. Bring that puppy home!  You leave work early and everyone is so excited for your family!  You have to stop by the pet store and buy all the things you’ll need the same food they tell you he has been eating, a bed/crate, peepads, puppy safe toys and treats ... You’re so excited ... your heart is racing!!  You’re so excited to just make your children’s dream come true! Your daughter walks in the house and sees the puppy sitting there in grandpas lap and she squeals with delight! Then she starts crying and completely bursts out in happy tears and through her tears and crying she says “thank you” as she gives you a huge hug!!  ❤️After she gives you a hug she sits and cuddles him on the couch and she can’t wipe the smile off of her face for the rest of the night. She’s loving this... her own little baby and she’s holding him bonding with him. She gives him the name she had chosen months ago for the boy dog she wanted so badly. She names him Diesel. The next day pretty uneventful he seems kind of tired you just think he’s a cozy little puppy. The girls are so happy, they are so in love!  The next day same thing. The following day he throws up all day long you think it might be his food maybe it’s hurting his tummy so you switched to a mild food. The next day you have a couple family members over and they question him being so lethargic. You say “oh well it’s probably because he threw up all day yesterday he’s probably tired”. The next morning you wake up and he is still kind of tired looking so your husband takes him into the vet...  10 minutes after checking in they tell you the worst news... your brand new puppy ... your daughters’ pride and joy ... has Parvo. You suck it up and you admit him to the pet hospital. He pays the vet bill in full, of course. Less than 24 hours later they call you back and tell you he didn’t make it. You contact the lady that you bought this puppy from... she must have some care in her heart for this kind of situation. She refuses to give you your money back. She blames it all on you. Puppy must’ve gotten Parvo from your house because there’s no Parvo at her house. And there’s nothing she can do. End of conversation. And now you’re out double what you paid and you have no  puppy. More than about the money, your children are heartbroken. Your family is devastated. This is my story. Life can be so cruel.

Update: We are attempting to clean using “Rescue” products and bleach. Doing lots of research so we don’t have to go through this again.

My sweet girl cried again last night saying she didn’t understand why this has to happen to us. Try explaining that right? So sad. Hurts this mommas heart.  Anything you can do to help is appreciated. Thank you.
