INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Jade Owen. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, due to being extremely premature and complications arising from my birth.

HISTORY
I was diagnosed as having Cerebral Palsy at the age of 2, but have never received the treatment and support I needed as a child.

My family have been fundraising for many years now and in 2018, thanks to an anonymous donor, I was able to go to St Louis in the USA to have Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). This is a procedure used to help reduce spasticity in people with Cerebral Palsy.

Since then I have worked extremely hard to be where I am today. I am doing things I would never have thought possible.

CURRENT SITUATION
To keep my muscles loose and strong, I need to have Strengthening and Conditioning (S&C) sessions regularly, as well as requiring regular Botox injections in my right leg.

The S&C sessions are important for me to have as they help with my strength and independence, and the Botox helps to reduce the spasticity which remains in my right leg.

REASON FOR FUNDRAISING
All of this is not funded by the NHS and, as we don’t drive, I also need taxis to Cwmbran and back for each session.

As well as the ongoing training and Botox, I need to have extra equipment at home to be able to train in between sessions and also to help with my independence.

THANK YOU
So thank you for reading my story, and I hope you are able to donate and help me maintain these sessions and get the necessary equipment I need.

Thank you.
