Hallo, ihr Lieben!
Ich möchte für unseren zur Herstellung vorgesehenen Film ODETTE das Budget zusammenkriegen. Ich bin der felsenfesten Überzeugung, daß dieser Stoff etwas völlig Neues und Gewinnbringendes in der internationalen Filmwelt ist und die Story jeden Cineasten von den Socken hauen wird.

Sommer 1983, Westdeutschland.
Ein namenloser Germanistikstudent verfällt dem Wesen der betörenden, fast unwirklich schönen Odette – einer jungen Frau, deren Herkunft ebenso rätselhaft ist wie ihre Wirkung.
Wo Odette erscheint, geraten Männer in einen Zustand zwischen Rausch, Begehren und Kontrollverlust. Die Begegnung mit ihr wirkt wie ein Versprechen, das sich sofort einlöst – und zugleich wie ein Fluch, der unausweichlich wird.
Aus anfänglicher Faszination entsteht eine große Liebe. Aus Nähe wird Abhängigkeit. Was als klassische Liebesgeschichte beginnt, kippt schleichend in einen Albtraum aus erotischen Exzessen, emotionaler Versklavung und Selbstzerstörung.
Odette trägt ein dunkles Geheimnis in sich – eines, das tief in ihre Vergangenheit zurückreicht. Als der Student zu begreifen beginnt, mit wem er es wirklich zu tun hat, ist der Punkt ohne Wiederkehr längst überschritten. Die Enthüllung kommt zu spät. Und sie ist vernichtend.
ODETTE erzählt die Geschichte einer geheimnisvollen jungen Frau, deren – bewusst filmisch überhöhte – Anziehungskraft auf Männer überwältigend wirkt. Nur seltene, präzise gesetzte Rückblenden lassen erahnen, dass diese scheinbare Macht auf verheerenden inneren Brüchen beruht. Odette ist kein Mythos, sondern ein „geborenes Opfer“: unrettbar verloren, insbesondere in Bezug auf ihren Körper, seine Funktionsweise und seine Instrumentalisierung. Dieses Geheimnis kulminiert in einer zentralen Schlüsselszene am Ende des Films.
Gleichzeitig ist ODETTE ein Film über ein Europa, das es so nicht mehr gibt. 1983 war der Kontinent geteilt. Neben dem prosperierenden Westen existierte ein anderes Europa, das in vielen Regionen kaum über den Status eines Entwicklungslandes hinauskam. Odette stammt aus Rumänien, aus dem Karpatenraum – damals unter der brutalen Diktatur von Nicolae Ceaușescu. Für ein heutiges junges Publikum ist diese Realität kaum noch vorstellbar.
Gerade der Balkan jedoch war – und ist – eine explosive Mischung aus ethnischer, kultureller und sozialer Vielfalt: faszinierend, archaisch, widersprüchlich. Im Guten wie im Schlechten. Teilweise existierten Gemeinschaften, die nahezu vollständig von der Außenwelt abgeschnitten waren. ODETTE verschmilzt diese historische und kulturelle Dimension mit einer hochgradig erotischen, düsteren Erzählung: Eine Liebesgeschichte, die klassisch beginnt, sich immer weiter verfinstert und schließlich in einer tödlichen Katastrophe endet.
Dabei ist eines zentral: ODETTE ist auf keinen Fall ein Porno.
Der Film setzt weder auf explizite Sexualdarstellungen noch auf billigen Reiz oder voyeuristischen Fleischbeschau. Vielmehr strebt ODETTE bewusst ein Revival des Erotikthrillers an – jenes Genres, das Begehren, Gefahr und psychologische Abgründe untrennbar miteinander verbindet. Erotik wird hier als Machtinstrument, als emotionale Waffe und als dramaturgischer Motor eingesetzt.
Um sich radikal von der heutigen audiovisuellen Überproduktion abzuheben, verzichtet ODETTE weitgehend auf Gewalt (der Film ist nahezu gewaltfrei), auf inflationäre Horrormomente und auf plakative Effekte. Stattdessen arbeitet der Film mit sorgfältig choreografierten erotischen Sequenzen, mit spektakulären Aufnahmetechniken, präzisen Kamerabewegungen und einer Bildsprache, die Nähe, Intimität und Bedrohung zugleich erzeugt.
Ich bin überzeugt, dass gerade diese Mischung – eine altmodische, ernsthafte Liebesgeschichte, geheimnisvolle Spannungselemente und ein kontrolliert inszenierter erotischer Kern – eine enorme Sogwirkung entfalten wird.
ODETTE ist ein Sex-Thriller über eine unfreiwillige, tragische und todgeweihte Männerfresserin.
Und mein erklärtes Ziel ist es, Odette zu einer neuen Frauenikone zu machen: faszinierend, verstörend, unvergesslich.

I would like to raise the budget for our planned film ODETTE. I am firmly convinced that this material is something completely new and profitable in the international film world and that the story will blow every cineaste away.
And here we go:
Summer 1983, West Germany.
An unnamed German studies student falls under the spell of the beguiling, almost unreal beauty Odette – a young woman whose origins are as mysterious as her effect on others.
Wherever Odette appears, men are caught in a state between intoxication, desire and loss of control. Encountering her feels like a promise that is immediately fulfilled – and at the same time like a curse that becomes inevitable.
Initial fascination turns into great love. Closeness becomes dependence. What begins as a classic love story gradually turns into a nightmare of erotic excess, emotional enslavement and self-destruction.
Odette carries a dark secret within her – one that goes deep into her past. By the time the student begins to understand who he is really dealing with, the point of no return has long been passed. The revelation comes too late. And it is devastating.
ODETTE tells the story of a mysterious young woman whose – deliberately exaggerated for the film – attraction to men is overwhelming. Only rare, precisely placed flashbacks hint that this apparent power is based on devastating inner fractures. Odette is not a myth, but a ‘born victim’: irretrievably lost, especially in relation to her body, its functioning and its instrumentalisation. This secret culminates in a central key scene at the end of the film.
At the same time, ODETTE is a film about a Europe that no longer exists. In 1983, the continent was divided. Alongside the prosperous West, there was another Europe, which in many regions barely rose above the status of a developing country. Odette comes from Romania, from the Carpathian region – at that time under the brutal dictatorship of Nicolae Ceaușescu. For today's young audience, this reality is hardly imaginable.
However, the Balkans in particular were – and still are – an explosive mixture of ethnic, cultural and social diversity: fascinating, archaic, contradictory. For better or for worse. In some cases, there were communities that were almost completely cut off from the outside world. ODETTE blends this historical and cultural dimension with a highly erotic, dark narrative: a love story that begins classically, grows increasingly darker and ultimately ends in a deadly catastrophe.
One thing is central here: ODETTE is by no means a porn film.
The film relies neither on explicit sexual depictions nor on cheap titillation or voyeuristic flesh-gazing. Rather, ODETTE consciously strives to revive the erotic thriller – a genre that inextricably links desire, danger and psychological abysses. Here, eroticism is used as an instrument of power, an emotional weapon and a dramaturgical engine.
In order to radically distinguish itself from today's audiovisual overproduction, ODETTE largely dispenses with violence (the film is almost entirely non-violent), inflationary horror moments and striking effects. Instead, the film works with carefully choreographed erotic sequences, spectacular filming techniques, precise camera movements and a visual language that creates closeness, intimacy and menace at the same time.
I am convinced that it is precisely this mixture – an old-fashioned, serious love story, mysterious elements of suspense and a controlled erotic core – that will have an enormous pull.
ODETTE is a sex thriller about an involuntary, tragic and doomed man-eater.
And my declared goal is to make Odette a new female icon: fascinating, disturbing, unforgettable.
