We are Michigan State University Mock Trial Association: MSU’s premier public speaking and debate team. Our team of Spartans from 20+ majors puts together an entire legal case every year. Through the American Mock Trial Association, MSUMT takes our case and competes against teams nationwide at tournaments.

This 2025-2026 season, we are planning on attending invitationals across the nation, and sending three teams to regional tournaments. Last year, our A, B, and C teams advanced from Regionals to the Open Round Championship Series, meaning we had every member of our program qualify for the second-highest ranked tournaments. The year before, we sent our A team to Nationals, the most competitive competition in the nation! This year, we seek to qualify and send a team to Nationals once again.

As you can imagine, sending multiple teams nationwide to compete in tournaments becomes costly. This is where support and generosity from individual donors becomes crucial to our teams' success! While we receive funding from colleges within MSU in the fall semester, we are responsible for paying registration, hotel, and travel fees and the cost of our competition materials. As we strive to be as competitive as possible, our expenses exceed our annual funding. Your funding would directly aid us in alleviating these costs.

Additionally, our organization falls under 501(c)(3) tax exemption status, so if you, any family members, or employers could match donations, those contributions could be written off.
