This is my mom, Beth. (she's the one on the right)
In December of 2013 she was diagnosed with Stage 4 bile duct cancer. Our family has no real history of cancer, so to say we were blindsided by it is an understatement. After some scary internet research we were even more concerned.
The doctor's first response was to try and remove the tumor. While we were optimistic, the outcome was not what we hoped. The tumor was too big, it was too risky to remove it without making things worse. So the decision was then made to try chemotherapy, in hopes to reduce the tumor. So for the next 12 months chemo it was.
In the midst of all this, she has done her best to keep her life as normal as possible. She goes to work (most days) and still lives on her own, but the co-pays and deductibles are starting to become overwhelming for her.
Please, if you can help at all to cover where the insurance doesn't, we would truly appreciate it.
