Chris Shorner and Kathy Doss are raising funds for our lifelong friend.

Our dear friend, Donna Saurbier-Gaughan and her son Shane Gaughan are here with us today because of the quick actions of the North Riverside Fire Dept and the Forest Park Fire Dept. Donna, a lifelong Forest Parker was in bed sleeping when she woke to an axe coming through her door. Her apartment building was on fire and she was able to escape because of our great first responders. We will forever be in debt to all involved for saving her life. Donna is a hardworking beautiful person and her son is a wonderful young man who has stepped up since his father passed away a few years ago. They were able to save their 3 cats, all of who were rushed to the vet. This family is devastated, as they have lost everything in their home and are now in a hotel, trying to figure things out, going to work every day and still pay the bills. The bills are mounting, the vet bill is huge and they need to find and furnish a place to live. This is something we could never imagine happening to us. Donna is very proud and humble and will not ask for help so we will do what we have to do for this loving, generous person we are fortunate to call a friend.

We love our friend and need to make sure she has a home again, can pay the vet bills for her fur babies and recover from this tragedy. Please help us help her. It truly takes villages and friends to come together in times like this. Together we can make a difference.
