This little cutie is Pumpkin. On Halloween night I (Rosalie) heard something outside my front door. Thinking it was trick or treaters, I opened the door, only to see this skinny, cold kitting standing outside. After a moment, he let himself into our house and out of the cold rain.
i immediately scooped him up and put him in the bathroom to keep hime separate from my adult cats. Amazingly, I found a single can of kitten food, scooped some out, and gave him food and water. I made a makeshift litter box out of a rectangular cake pan.
After he'd eaten, I learned that he was the sweetest, friendliest, purriest kitten ever. He wanted lots and lots of love. Unfortunately, he was skin and bones and had fleas.
When my husband and son came home, they were immediately smitten with Pumpkin too. My 7 year old volunteered to let the kitten use his bedroom to stay separate from the cats. We decided that after a bath, flea treatment, and a thorough room cleaning that we would make the shift the next day.
I've been looking for a previous owner in many places, but so far no luck. He doesn't have a microchip, and he hasn't been neutered. He's about 4 months old.
If we can't find his previous owner, we plan to keep this little guy. But money is tight for us (like it is for so many!) Either way, we want to get him checked out by a vet ASAP to make sure he gets treated for any issues he may have, and get vaccines. And then, of course, we'll get him neutered.
The amount requested is an estimate of what it will cost to get all of these things started at the vet. Obviously we won't know the actual cost until we get him seen, and I'll update at that time.
In the event that we raise more money than it will cost to take care of all of his healthcare needs, we'll use the rest to pay for his upkeep, including stress diffusers for our adult cats to ease them into meeting him, food, litter, toys, a scratching post, and maybe even a cat tree (the one we have has been pretty beaten up by the older cats).
If we find his previous owner, we will give them the money raised for his upkeep.
Every dollar raised is incredibly helpful, and we appreciate it so much! Whether you can contribute or not, please share
Thank you!!!!
Rosalie
