Hi,

I am Uddap Dotel from Nepal. I have been having a kidney problem for three years. The doctors from Bir Hospital in Kathmandu (Nepal) have told me that I could live longer if the transplant is done. Due to my critical health, I can no longer work, and I have to rely on my family members for money. Currently, I am on medication and it costs my family on average $1500 to buy medicine and other costs, every single month. My brother has sold our property and other assets to treat me. My family is already very poor, and my medication is pushing them to abysmal debt.

Amid this crisis, there is positivity. I am one of the lucky men to have a loving wife. She wants to donate one of her kidneys to me so that I can live longer, luckily the medical tests have shown that our tissues are compatible (for a transplant). But needless to say, we don’t have money for the surgery. My wife works as a domestic cleaner to earn money to feed me and our three old year daughter. Due to the coronavirus situation in Nepal, people are not giving her work and that has created a further financial crisis. Based on our current situation there is a very little hope that we will have enough money to undergo the transplant. If we can collect the sufficient fund, then we will start the treatment for the kidney transplantation as soon as possible.

Every day and night I am worried about my daughter. How will my family survive with so much debt after I am gone? I have already lost a four-year-old son in an accident. I don’t want any bad things to happen to my daughter. I want my daughter to live safely after I am gone.
