For a couple years, my brother Shawn ignored a health issue; something somewhat small then became something huge.  It wasn’t so much that he ignored it...life happened. He had to continue to work to pay rent, to child support, to live. He couldn’t afford to not work. And having no health insurance didn’t help matters. Where do you go? Where do you start? It was all overwhelming. This past week, his health finally took a turn for the worse...he was exhausted, couldn’t eat or sleep. He was too exhausted to spend time with his daughter. To top it off,  he lost his job. He finally agreed to go to the hospital.

And here we are. His surgery was a success, but he’s been in the hospital for almost a week and will stay there most of the coming week. While he still has his apartment for now, he doesn’t have a job or any money...to just live and try to recover from all this. 

We’re hoping to raise money to help Shawn stay in his apartment and help get him back on his feet. He has been through so much. Anything would help lessen the stress and let him concentrate on his road to recovery and his next steps.
