Moving across Canada!

Dear Friends and Family,

We hope you're doing well. We are reaching out with a heartfelt request for support as we embark on an exciting but challenging journey—moving across Canada!

Why We’re Moving:

After being away from home for 14 years, I have been offered a job in my hometown of Inverness! For many years, it's been my long-term goal to move back home, but there were not many full-time positions available in the area of healthcare I have experience in: mental health health and substance use. When a job opportunity came up with NS Health, I applied- knowing that I may or may not be successful in getting the job. In December, I was offered the job! Now, my family and I are relocating to Inverness from Smithers in Northern BC. This move represents many things: a fresh start, new opportunities, and a chance to create a better life for ourselves and reconnect with family and the amazing community that Inverness is. The fact that I get to come back to the place that makes my heart full and live out the rest of our lives in the place that I love so much, I can't fully express the gratitude I feel. We plan on leaving BC on February 9th and hope to arrive in Nova Scotia on February 16-17th.

The Challenge:

Moving across such a vast country comes with its own set of challenges, both emotionally and financially. The costs associated with moving—transportation, packing, pet-friendly accommodations, and unexpected expenses—are significant. Unfortunately, our current resources are stretched thin, and we’re reaching out for help to make this transition smoother. We will be travelling with our beloved pets- a vibrant and spunky husky, a sassy and snuggly cat and a nearly two-year-old corn snake- our son Raine's favourite pet. Driving across the country is a little daunting, but more so knowing that we are doing it in the middle of Winter.

How You Can Help:

We have set up this GoFundMe page to raise as close to $5,000 to assist with our moving expenses. Your generous contributions will go directly towards:

- Moving trailer rental: Covering the cost of a trailer to transport our belongings safely.

- Gas and Travel Expenses: Fuel for the journey and any necessary stops along the way.

- Packing Supplies: Boxes, tape, and other materials to ensure our items are securely packed.

- Accommodation while on the road: pet-friendly motel costs that will provide us rest along our journey.

- Unexpected Costs: Covering any unplanned expenses that may arise during the move.
