Bryan's Road To Recovery
Donation protected
On Wednesday, 3/6, Bryan suffered a stroke and had no clue at the time. His wife, Loraina, took him to the ER on Sunday, 3/10, where he had another stroke. This is when Loraina learned of the first stroke he experienced a few days prior. Bryan was medevaced to Maui Memorial Hospital that same day. Around midnight, medical personnel told Loraina they would need to medevac Bryan to Honolulu. Bryan was then placed in ICU while waiting for a bed to open up at Queen's Hospital. On Monday, 3/11, at 6:00pm Bryan and Loraina were finally on their way to Honolulu. As soon as they reached the hospital, doctors started aggressive testing on Bryan. He had several MRI tests, CAT scan, and a neuropathy test done. They found out that Bryan had an aneurysm on the left side of his brain which affected his speech, writing, and coordination. The aneurysm also caused his already existing conditions to become worse - diabetes and hypertension. Bryan is currently on intense medication to bring down his sugar levels and blood pressure. He is also on blood thinners to help the blood clot shrink and allow flow back to the left side of his brain. Doctors say he will need to undergo extensive rehab therapy. They are predicting Bryan's recovery will take about 6-8 months. He and Loraina will remain on Oahu until he is fully recovered.
We, the friends and family of Bryan and Loraina Seghorn, are humbly asking for any support you can spare. Donations will go to medical expenses and any other expense Bryan will incur while on his road to recovery. Mahalo!!
