Luna's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Hi everyone this is Luna or as some of you may know her as Lune, Luni, Tuna, Luni Toons, and Luna the Big Kahuna. She is a Miniature Australian Shepherd who is currently 6 years old. All her life she has been a loyal, fun loving, snuggly girl who loves her sleepy Sunday's on the couch with her parents, belly rubs and being a chew toy for her younger brother Rory.

In early August she began developing signs and symptoms of concern leading to extensive medical testing at multiple vet offices. We never could have imagined the severity of her diagnosis. Ultimately on August 28th, 2023 she was diagnosed with Mediastinal Lymphoma. This is a rare form of cancer in dogs and one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. If left untreated the survival time is about 1-2 months. There are various treatment options that can be utilized to prolong and provide the best quality of life for about 9-12 months from diagnosis.

We have decided to provide Luna with the care she needs to prolong and maintain her best quality of life for as long as possible by going through with an aggressive chemotherapy treatment known as CHOP. This treatment is estimated to cost more than $8,000 without including the previous vet bills. If you know us, we are not the type of people to ask for help and support. Luna's medical bills up to this point with all of her testing have been financially manageable but in order to provide her with the care she deserves, we are asking for support from friends, family or anyone who feels inclined to assist us in Luna's time of need. Thank you so much in advance!!

Any excess money that does not go directly towards Luna's vet bills/treatment will be donated to a charity in The Sadvary Family name that is undetermined at this time.

9/4/23: since bringing Luna home on Wednesday, she had been struggling with side effects of medication that was sent home as well as administered in the hospital. We’re happy to say that after adjusting some things, she has definitely been her normal self for the past two days. She’s back to zooming with her brother, begging for pancakes, and showing us all of the love by way of kisses and cuddles. She will start her first dose of chemotherapy tomorrow so please keep her in your thoughts. ❤️
