Medical mission trip to Brazil

Greetings to all!
When Jennifer and I were dating, lo those many years ago, we could never have imagined the journey that God had laid before us. If you're here, I'm guessing you're familiar with the journey, so I won't bore you with the gory and harrowing details. Needless to say, we would not be here without God's promise and your neverending belief in, support of, and most importantly prayer for us.
When God laid this calling to help others through the medium of healthcare on our hearts, His only expectations of us were that we honor Him in our effort and not quit. If we did those two things, He would be faithful to complete the work He had started in us. As you know, God keeps His promises!! Jennifer has been a registered nurse for a while now, and I am in my second year of residency as a family medicine physician. Our path has certainly had it's challenges and obstacles, but He is ever faithful. God is so good!!!
One of the great things about the Valley Baptist Family Practice Residency Program is that we are encouraged to serve others with our gifts in the matchless name of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. When Jennifer and I began to seek God's will regarding where He wanted us to go, He led us to Brazil. It holds a special place in our family's heart, as Jennifer's grandparents were missionaries there for many years and her dad and two aunts were born and raised there. We will be heading there in June of this year for a 2-3 week medical mission.
Through my residency program, we have been put in touch with a wonderful group called Amazon Lifesavers. Please follow the link provided for more information on who they are and what they do. We will have an opportunity to provide our Lord's love and truth to those in some of the most remote and isolated reaches of the world. We are very excited to take this next step in faith and obedience to our Master.
As with every other aspect of this journey, we covet your prayers most importantly. God has called us to this undertaking, and our obedience is all He requires. Isaiah 6:8 says, "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" That verse has been our family's life verse from our inception as a team.
As you can imagine (or google for yourself), trips of this sort require significant funding. Your most important contribution, and we truly mean this, is prayer for us as we take this step. If you are able, and feel so inclined, any contribution you feel led to make financially is most greatly appreciated and will be used for the glory and honor of God on this mission trip.
We serve an awesome God and we have all been called to share the truth that He sent His Son to die for us that we might be saved, for there is no other name under Heaven by which we can be saved. Thank you for unfailingly supporting us as you have during our journey. We are eagerly anticipating sharing God's blessings as we embark on this next step in service of our King.
