Support Usha in Her Mother’s Final Goodbyeआमाको अन्तिम बिदाई

I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Usha Basnet, who is living through the most painful chapter of her life.

On July 7, 2025, beloved mother, Babita, passed away unexpectedly at age 51 in the UK. Her sudden loss has left our family completely heartbroken. Babita lived a life rooted in care for others, in small joys, in quiet strength. Her passing has created a void we will never be able to fill.

What makes this even more devastating is the timing. Usha is currently in postpartum recovery, caring for her three-month-old baby while grieving the loss of her mother. She is still healing physically, while emotionally, she’s trying to stay strong—for her baby, for our family, and for the memory of her mother. It is an unimaginable weight for anyone to carry.

As per our tradition, it is a sacred responsibility for both daughter and son especially the son to be physically present to perform the final rites, so that the soul may find peace.

So many friends, family, and loved ones from Nepal, the U.S., and around the world have been reaching out, asking how they can support Usha and be there for our family during this heartbreaking time. I hope this fundraiser offers a way for you to extend your love and care, no matter how far you may be.

मेरी ममी बबिता, मेरी सानी छोरी र म सुत्केरी भेट्न छोटो समयको लागी यु. के. आउनु भएको थियो । मैले ममीलाई गत जुलाई ५ मा एक्कासी ज्वरो र वान्ताले गर्दा इमर्जेन्सी हस्पिटल भर्ना गरे। ३ दिनको आइ. सी. यु. र भेण्टिलेटर सहित सबै उपचारको बाबजुत जुलाई ७, २०२५ मा ५१ वर्षमै सानी नातिनी लगायत हामी स-परिवारलाई छाडेर जानु भयो । यस संवेदनशील अवस्थामा छोरीको स्याहार गर्नु, आमाको पार्थिक शरीरलाई अन्त्येष्टि र संस्कारको सबै व्यवस्था सम्हाल्नु अत्यन्तै गाह्रो भै रहेको छ ।

यद्यपी यस दुखद घडिमा स्वदेश तथा विदेशमा रहनुभएका मेरा सम्पूर्ण शुभ चिन्तक, आफ्ना-आफन्तजन, नातागोता, साथीभाई, इस्टमित्र तथा समग्र नेपाली तथा विदेशी दिदिबहिनि तथा दाजुभाइहरुबाट माया, स्नेह, सद्भाव, समवेदना तथा सहयोग पाईरहेको छु र थप सहयोगका लागि चिन्ता र चासो व्यक्त गर्नु भएकोमा आभारी छु साथै मेरी आमाको पार्थिव शरीरको अन्त्येष्टि तथा हस्पिटलको महँगो शुल्कको व्यवस्थापनार्थ आ-आफ्नो स्थानबाट स्वेच्छिक सहयोगार्थ तपशिल बमोजिमको विवरण भएको बेहोरा अनुरोध छ।
