In 2018, with nothing but a backpack and a small suitcase, Khaled arrived in Canada as a Syrian refugee, carrying the dream of starting a permanent photography studio space. Help Khaled pursue his dream!
Those who know Khaled as a photographer know him as creative, dedicated, honest, and easy to work with. Khaled is a self-taught photographer, he picked up the craft early on during his teenage years, initially as a creative means that allowed him to imagine alternative realities, and developed it into a profession at which he persevered and excelled. As he practiced in Dubai, he built himself a diverse portfolio of international clients and shared his passion for photography through teaching.
A few years after the war broke out in Syria, Khaled was forced out of Dubai and into Lebanon as a Syrian refugee. In 2018, with nothing but a backpack and a small suitcase, he arrived in Canada carrying the dream of starting a permanent photography studio space that serves clients, hosts classes and workshops, and includes a communal space where creatives can collaborate, share ideas, and expand their skills.
However, big dreams happen in small steps and Khaled needs your help with the first one! He wants your support funding his initial photography gear which includes a camera and a back-up, lenses, lighting equipment, storage devices, and other accessories. The goal is to raise $30,000 to get him the equipment and support he needs to get the ball rolling, and gain the client portfolio and the revenue that would allow him to approach big lenders to fund his overall vision: KTP Studios Inc.
May 4th 2022 is the date he plans to release his first camera shutter in Canada!
Khaled has always been a strong believer in “paying it forward.” Help him reach his goal, and he pledges to:
- Work with kids with learning difficulties in alternative schools and halfway houses, sharing his photography knowledge and experience with them, mentor them, and empower them to pursue a career in photography. With a late diagnosis of ADHD and dyslexia, Khaled understands how hard acquiring new skills can be.
-Assist adult refugees who are struggling to find work by offering them free business portraits to use on their LinkedIn profiles — in collaboration with government programs and refugee groups.
-For donors based in Ontario who give $400+, Khaled will be offering a complimentary photoshoot for your family or small business.
thank you
