Julie Jackson Brandt and family

Julie Jackson Brandt is a Nurse Anesthetist in the Ochsner Health System and lives with her two children, Reilly and Jackson in New Orleans.  Julie devotes much of her time to her job, raising her children (including attending their sports activities) and generously providing a haven for rescuing animals (she is a dog lover!!).  In late October 2015 Julie was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.  After consultations with her doctors it has been determined that she will undergo extensive surgery which may or may not involve post-operative chemotherapy.  While this has been somewhat devastating news her attitude is great and her primary concerns are not about her health; but about her ability to cover her household expenses and her children’s education during her recovery.  Julie has a limited amount of vacation time and her short term disability only covers a portion of her income.  Through an innovative program at Ochsner’s, Julie’s co-workers can donate some of their time off in order to allow her to maintain her income.  While Julie is hopeful this generosity may cover some of her needs it is doubtful that these donations will cover the full amount of time needed to recover.  So this Go Fund Me site is being set up so that anyone who would like to contribute may do so.   We hope that this will minimize Julie’s stress and allow her to make a complete recovery.  A special note……should there be any excess funds raised from this website it will be donated to the SPCA and various, non-profit animal rescue operations.
