My name is Jake, and I can happily update my is at home, out of the hospital and in an environment she is settled by.

Though I’m still reaching out for support to get some items that will keep her safe and comfortable as she completes her journey amoung us and prepares to level up. She’s bravely been fighting stage four lung cancer that has now spread throughout her body, including a lesion on the brain, which day by day, bit by bit its taking her function and mobility. I'm hoping with your assistance i can get a lifter or hoist so I can get her out of bed and outside into the warmth of the sun when it shines, or watch the sunset in an array of colours over the lake. She can no longer stand or walk unassisted, so I am picking her up and lifting on my own, which is not good and dangerous for both of us.

There’s nothing in life my mom loves more than me and her two dogs, who are lost without her presence, until a day ago, they were constantly walking around checking the kitchen, bathroom and lounge to find her. My parents split just before I started kindergarten and since then, my mom has been my rock, raising me on her own as a single mother despite her own health challenges. She always made sure I was cared for, from school to sports and even the electronics I needed, always finding a way, and all while working hard on her own.

My entire life she has stood by me, fought for me, picked me up when i had fallen, even the falls from grace. Not once did her love, understanding and acceptance of me waiver. Her only wish through all of this is not to die in a hospital, but to be at home with me and her dogs in a place she loves and feels comfortable. The last thing I can do for her is to try my hardest to fulfill that wish and bring her home to the love and comfort she deserves.

My mother Ros is a beautiful women and despite the things life has subjected her to, she always maintained a heart of gold helping and thinking of others before herself. The world will be disadvantaged without her in it.
