Claire Cares for Carolina

Are you looking for a way to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina? My name is Claire Richardson, and I’m a junior at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas. My favorite family trip was to North Carolina when I was 14 years old. I fell in love with the nature hikes, waterfalls and forests…so much so that I hope to pursue environmental science at a university in North Carolina. Because of this, I have researched and found thee reputable charities that are currently on the ground in the areas most devastated by Hurricane Helene. The charities I am fundraising for are North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, Beloved Asheville, and Appalachian State Disaster Relief Fund (in Boone, NC). The funds raised will be divided equally between these three charities.

NC Disaster Relief Fund is managed by United Way of North Carolina and will provide grants to nonprofits working directly in impacted communities. Beloved Asheville is providing critical necessities like food, water, and healthcare for survival and stability in the town of Asheville. App State Disaster Relief Recovery Fund supports impacted students, faculty, and staff.
