Hi, my name is Fiona, Leanne brook and I are reaching out on behalf of a big group of our friends to ask for your support in helping our dear friends, Lisa and Paddy.
As many of you already know, Paddy has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour also known as a Glioblastoma. He has undergone major surgery to remove it, and while doctors were able to remove 95% of the tumour, the road ahead remains incredibly tough.
Due to the severity of his illness, he is unable to return to work as a self-employed joiner. The operation has also left Paddy with reduced mobility in his legs and he finds everyday tasks much more difficult than before. He is now preparing to start intensive treatment to help slow down the growth of the remaining tumour and keep his illness at bay. We hope this will give him precious time to:
- to celebrate his 50th birthday.
- to watch his beautiful daughter finish her medical degree.
- to see his middle son qualify as a joiner.
- to watch his youngest grow into the incredible person he’s already becoming.
- for new treatments to become available to help cure his illness.
As you can imagine, Paddy and his family are now navigating a challenging period — emotionally, physically, and financially. There are additional therapies that may provide symptomatic relief, rehabilitation, and help Paddy regain strength — all of which come with their own costs. More than anything we know what the family need most is the freedom to focus on treatment, recovery and each other, without any added stresses.
So, as friends who care deeply, we’re organising a fundraiser on Sunday 28th September to help support them with the treatment he needs and through this incredibly difficult journey.
We understand that not everyone will be able to attend in person, but if you would still like to contribute, we would be so grateful.
Your support — whether through donations, attending the event, or simply spreading the word — will help give this beautiful family the breathing space they need right now.
Thank you so much for your kindness
