On Friday, March 25th, 2022 Tammy and Derrin's 18-month-old son, Holden, was diagnosed with Stage 2 High-Risk Neuroblastoma and a rare, aggressive Neurological condition, Opsoclonus-myoclonus-ataxia-syndrome (OMAS), caused by his cancer. Stage 2 means that it has not spread, which was wonderful news. However, the biopsy showed unfavorable histology, meaning his treatments would need to be very aggressive. March 26th was Holdens first day of the first round of high-dose Chemotherapy.
Tammy, Derrin and Holden have spent all but six nights at Children’s Hospital since March 25th. They are currently at Children’s Hospital as Holden has just completed his 2nd of 4 rounds of Chemotherapy. Holden will remain hospitalized for inpatient therapy.
Over the course of the next several months, Holden's fight against Cancer will include a minimum of 4 rounds of aggressive Chemotherapy, surgical tumor removal, radiation, stem cell transplant, Immunosuppressant infusion therapy, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
Tammy, Derrin, big sister Hollie and Holden's life has been turned upside down. This is only the beginning of Holden's fight against cancer. The family has a challenging and uncertain journey going forward. If able, please consider donating to help alleviate some of the financial burden so they can focus on Holden.
Please continue to keep Holden in your prayers during this time.
